Projects

Ron and I can't go an entire summer/fall without some sort of furniture refurbishing. This time it was this dresser. We got it for free from one of the professors that Ron works with at Purdue. I am way excited for it because I gave my dresser up to the children when I was pregnant with Hayden. Since then Ron and I have been living out of his dresser each of us getting 2 drawers. Now Ron and I will have our own dressers again for the first time in 5.5 years!!
Once we got the dresser I quickly got to work on fixing it up and making it how I pictured in my head.

I knew what I wanted in my head and went straight to Pinterest to put my imagination on paper so to speak. So the 2 images above were my inspiration.

BEFORE

This is the first piece of furniture I have ever distressed. It was hard not to just stain the whole thingand be done, because it is a beautiful solid wood dresser. Distressing furniture is a bit like buying a brand new pair of jeans with holes with already in them if you ask me. I went for it anyway because I have a vision for our room.

I love how it turned out, and the best part is that it cost less than 25 bucks!!!! Score!
