We decided to start birthday celebrations for Hayden on Friday night because his birthday was on Sunday. Friday ended up being the night we went to dinner because we don't buy things on Sunday, and Saturday night was our date night. Hayden requested his favorite restaurant Applebee's. He ate Mac n cheese and yogurt with strawberries. He was over the moon when waiters and waitresses came, sang to him and then gave him a brownie with ice cream. He was also completely shy and embarrassed. He loved his treat. and was so sweet to share with his sister.
Saturday we threw Hayden a little birthday party with all his church friends. He was so excited for this day to come. It was great to see how excited andhappy he was. This year he requested a robot birthday party. We all met up at the park and celebrated outside in the perfect weather.
Hayden requested a chocolate and vanilla robot cake. He was over the moon when I showed him his cake the next morning. It turned out pretty dang cute.
We started the party playing on the play ground and then followed by eating pizza and rootbeer for lunch.
After lunch we played games. We hit a robot piƱata, and then we put prizes on the ground and had the kids try to use robot arms to pick them up. After games we had cake and ice cream, and then opened presents.
Sunday was low key. We went to church where the birthday boy was given a crown by his cute teachers. He was pretty happy, and wore it all day.
We opened presents from grandparents and mom and dad. He got the Jolly Roger (jake and the never land pirates), a wallet maker thing, and then Ron and I got him his first set of Legos.
Happy birthday Hayden!

You did a good job on his cake! SO cute! I've seen that cake on pinterest and have it saved in case one day Dallin gets into robots! I can't believe Hayden is 5! and going into kindergarten in a few months!!! CRAZY!
