Koshka

This is koshka (means cat in Russian) our new kitten. Yes we decided to get the kids a pet... Well and myself.  I am not going to lie I am just as excited. She is just about 5 months old. The kids fight over her, and cry when it's time for her to go to her "room" for a nap (aka too much fighting and the poor thing is petrified).

I should start by saying why we got her. I quit my job. It just wasn't working. The kids were struggling big time, Ron was with school which is so not like him, and I was not doing well with it either.  So I quit and told Ron that I get lonely at home. I love being a stay at home mommy but those late nights are hard sometimes. I understand that I can't get a dog, but cats are easier. He wasn't way happy but he let me get a kitten on a few conditions. 

So we are a family of 5. I just love seeing the kids with her. After I put her away Hayden will go to her sit next her and pet her. He is so gentle and soft with her. He just says to me "I am going to keep my eye on her."  He just loves "his kitty."  

And Little miss?? Don't even get me started on grace. That kid has been in love with animals since the day she was born. I have never seen a child more in love with animals.  She sobs and sobs when the kitty goes to nap. She just stands at the door yelling Kieeee!!!! Think boo from monsters inc and you got it. 

I am excited to watch them with her. I see it as a great learning experience  in teaching responsibility, being kind to animals, and just see how much fun a pet can be.
