Made with love

I just love homemade gifts. There is just something special about giving someone something that can from your ideas, creativity and knowing all the hard work they put into making it.

The first Christmas gift we ever gave Hayden were blocks. I loved the idea of having a toy that I knew would last a very long time. I loved the idea of my grand kids playing with the blocks their daddy played with our even my great grand kids.
As a child I remember playing with my grandpa's blocks and I thought it was
Was so cool.

It was a lot of hard work, and we couldn't have done it without my dad. We wondered if it was worth the hastle of cutting, sanding and painting. Ron and I stayed up till 3 in the morning on Christmas Eve to finish them.

I am now realizing it was totally worth it.
These babies to this very day are still some of the most played with toys.
He loves building houses, garages, hospitals (he has been obsessed with hospitals since he went to visit me when I had Grace), and very tall towers. He loves knocking them over afterward or playing cars with them. One if his favorite things now is when he builds a tower and a "GIANT BABY" comes and attacks his towers. I think it so cute he I corporates her and embraces that grace will knock it over. They both just end up laughing and doing it again.

We spent a total if 20 bucks on these bad boys. This included wood, sand paper, paint and brushes. We would have paid a lot less but we bought a rod was over 11 bucks. Turns out the price tag said 1.99 a foot not for the whole thing.

Next homemade gift is for Mister's
birthday. I am making him a tee pee tent. He loves forts lately, and I am already imagining the games him and grace will play in it.

I remember you making those for him! You've gotta love the toys that last forever because they love them so much! I love that Hayden is folding his arms in the picture! Cute!
