Christmas

I am finally getting around to our Christmas Post. I just wanted a long nice break with my hubby and little man, and I didn't want to think about anything. I have to say though that this post has been nagging at me. Gotta get those journal entries done! Anyways this Christmas was perfect! We stayed home here in Logan, and just had the three of us. I love my little family. What could be better on Christmas?                                                                                                                                                                  Hayden just loved the Christmas tree. He did pretty well at leaving it alone. All except for the Christmas balls. They all eventually ended up in various places around the house for decoration, or at the top of the tree. I didn't care though. Thats what toddlers do, and he wanted to enjoy it just as much as I did. Every night we would tell him to turn on the lights. He would get so excited! He would run behind the tree, and plus it right in. Then he would throw his arms up in the air and yell "AH DAH!" Which in Hayden lingo that means "TAH DA!"

There is just something about Christmas lights that just make me want to cuddle up with my hubby in a blanket and watch christmas movies. It is pure magic to me.

Christmas Eve was quite the busy day for me. . We were doing a rather small Christmas for Ron and I, but I knew that I definitely wanted some fun stockings for us. Shopping was definitely a must, then it was home, wrap presents, and finish dinner. Our dinner to some is rather odd I am sure. I made a Pot roast, Carrots, salad, biscuits, and homemade mashed potatoes and gravy. I know its a traditional Sunday meal for most. Its a completely rarity in our household. I can't remember the last time I made one. The price of them kinda make me sick, but alas on Christmas its a must! We ate until we were sick to our tummies.

After our Tummies were a bit settled we indulged in this yummy dessert. Ron isn't into really rich yummy chocolatey treats like I am. So I kinda just made it up off the top of my head. It isn't much, but its was a perfect treat. Not to heavy, but it had chocolate and cream! You can never go wrong with that combo.
This was just a simple brownie topped with whipped cream, fresh fruit, and a drizzle of chocolate sauce.  It was delicious and so easy to make!

One thing that I loved about this dinner was how easy it was to make. I think that everyone should enjoy Christmas. I have seen so many women my own mother and Grandmother are some of them that slave and slave to create such an amazing meal. Oh boy and they do. They are both amazing, but I don't think its fair that everyone else gets to relax while mama slaves away in the kitchen. I bet I was in the kitchen for an 1.5 hours tops!
After Dinner we headed into the family room to open the traditional Christmas PJ's! I don't know about you but I honestly think this is my favorite present I get.  I just love pajamas... especially new ones!

You can see on his face that he liked his pajamas. What one year old wouldn't love ELMO pj's! He got so excited and and yelled out "MELMO!"
Family photo in the Christmas Jammies!
It is Garner Tradition that every Christmas Eve we build a fort. We started this our first year, and actually slept in it over night, but we decided we won't be sleeping in any Christmas Eve Forts until Kiddos are old enough to actually stay in a bed with out the confinement of a crib.
This fort was rather small, but Little man loved it, and that is all that matters!

After we put Mister Hayden in bed, Ron and I snuggled up in our fort and watched  Christmas Carol. So much fun.

Christmas Morning was a bit of a Rush. We have 9 am Church, and there was no way we were going to miss church on christmas. I love when Christmas is on Sundays! It really just brings out the meaning and the spirit.

We had a quick little breakfast. I made cinnamon Rolls (from a can). Classy I know. Then I fried up some bacon, we had fresh fruit and Orange Juice. It was the perfect way to start the day.

The rest of the pictures speak for themselves. After church we came home and opened presents.  Hayden is getting more and more fun with each passing year. This year he was really getting the hang of the idea of  "open a present and get a toy!" We got him a "Little People Barnyard set" some tractors and a fence to go a long with it, a magnet story book, a new book, clothes, Lincoln logs, animal fridge magnets and rango.  Grandpa and Grandmas on both sides spoiled him rotten with a new table that you could draw on, a giant Mr. potato head set books and clothes. Aunt Stephie and Uncle Chris bought him a giant mega blocks set. Aunt Rachel and Uncle Brandon got him a whole bunch of Cd's with children's songs on them.  The boy was on cloud nine with all his new toys.

Ron got the lord of the rings triology and Donkey Kong for Wii. His face was priceless when he opened them up. We had told each other no gifts do to the money situation, but I couldn't resist. Especially since just 3 days before he bought me new snow boots and a few weeks before that he bought me a new winter coat. We had basically told each other since he got me those things that it was my Christmas. I was completely okay with that. I loved my coat and boots. He found out I got him something and was sweet enough to wrap them up so I had something to open on Christmas. Little did he know I bought myself a couple of movies....

We are supposed to do "Our" Christmas this month. I haven't gotten Ron anything yet, but the sweetheart bought me the other Tinkerbell movie (don't judge me I like them!) and Mama Mia. He also got me 2 legit Muse Cd's. They are our favorite band together. I was so excited because my Cd's were getting old, scratched and decrepit. He also got me a brand new Cd case to put all of my Cd's in. It is perfect yet simple. I am still trying to decide on my gift for him, but trust me. ... It will be good!

Anyways Hope you all had a wonderful Holiday! I know we sure did!
