Sleepy little lamb (Ron calls him little lamb all the time)
I can not BELIEVE that my little man is already a month old. I know I know everyone says this, but hear is my theory as to why everyone says this. When you're pregnant time could not go by any slower. Seriously the months from September to May drug on and on especially the last month (Just ask my sister stephanie, I used to complain to her about it all the time). So when they actually do come you're life is so absorbed in making every need met that time flies by. The adjustment to being a mommy has bumps and bruises, but I do love it and I couldn't be happier that my little "dudie" (like dude with and ie at the end) has made it here safe and sound. Here are some things about the little man...
He has a metabolism like his father. If any of you know how much and how often Ron eats you'll know what I mean. The kid has been drinking 3-4 ounces since he was about 2 weeks old.
He is gaining weight and height like crazy!!! He already ways 10.6 lbs. and he 21.5 to 22 inches long!!! The kid is a weed.
He is very very impatient like his father, and stubborn like his mother
He won't go to sleep unless he is in someones arms or on someones just snuggled up. This is very cute, but oh SOOOO annoying for the 3 am feedings and such. This is a habit we are painfully trying to break. We love snuggle time, but we want him to sleep!!!! After being laid into bed he'll wake up screaming because he realizes he isn't being snuggled anymore. The moment you get him out of bed, you know, thinking he has gas, he's hungry or something. HE'S OUT. I mean OUT OUT. What a sucker.
He is ridiculousy strong. The kid has been holding his head up since he was just hours old. Now he can old it up for minutes at a time. He only really will lay it down when He's tired. He's still a little shakey witht controling movements, but hey he's only 4 weeks old. He also can already stand with help of course, but when he gets really mad cause he's hungry and we're trying to burp him he'll stand up and scream, or when we're bathing him and washing his back and bum he stands in the tub. Its pretty dang cute.
He's already smiling at us. Not gas smiles either. It isn't an all the time thing, but its starting to get that way. Its adorable!!!
The kid can burp and toot like his father (haha sorry ron)
He is a good mixture of both ron and I in the looks department.
He is already into music. We turn on classical music alot and never fail it calms him down, and he'll just sit and listen or fall asleep. He also likes it when we sing to him. This makes ron and I so proud!
Loves bath time, except for getting out. He SCREAMS bloody murder when he gets out. Poor thing.
He sighs in his sleep, and does really high pitched squeals. This is how we know he is out.
Just before he sleeps he gets these big huge grins over and over on his face. He has been this way since day one. This is another way we know we is "ALMOST" out.
He has acid reflux we're pretty sure. We're seeing if the medicine works right now.He cries out in his sleep, but the moment someone talks to him. He's fine. Not sure if he's just worried we're not there, or if its the acid reflux.
He pukes after I eat ice cream and nurse him every time. So dairy has been band from my diet. Whenever I think of this I think of Brian reagan. "I am standing in the juice isle and I look down to see all the dairy people... WEARING PARTY HATS!!!" This is exactly how I feel.
He will literally keep us up all night... Monday night I got up at 2:30 am for the day. He wouldn't stay asleep. The little pill. Like right now I'm typing this at 2:20 in the morning. Gotta love it.
Ron has done training on him. Basically every time Ron gives him a bottle He shakes it in his ear and then feeds him. Hayden will no stop crying the moment we shake the bottle in his ear cause he knows food is coming. hahaha.
Another Training Ron is doing while feeding him is placing his hands on the bottle. So basically Hayden is helping Ron. Now Hayden will hold the bottle himself if the bottle has the right amount of milk in it. Some of the weight is still on his chest, but Its pretty dang cute. He'll do the same thing when I nurse him. Its pretty funny He laughed for the first time yesterday. Probably the most adorable sound I've ever heard in my entire life.
We put him in the baby carrier for the first time yesterday and took him for a walk, and he ABSOLUTELY loved it. The kid loves to be walked around. He was in AW yesterday outside cause he's never actually seen outside. We always have a blanket over his face to protect him from the wind.
So far he loves the telephone. Whenever I'm talking to someone on the phone and Hayden starts crying I put the person on the phone and he stops crying. I think its cause he sees me, and knows I'm not talking so He is trying to figure out where the noise is coming from.
My favorite not so much rons. Ron says he prefers me more than him. Especially when it comes to snuggle time. Hayden will always snuggle with me, but cries when Ron tries. This doesn't happen everytime, but a good majority of the time. I think I have a right cause I carried him for 9 months and gave birth to him. I should be the favorite snuggler
There you have it folks. Hayden Garner quirks and cuteness from the last month all summed up in a blogpost.
