Wisdom Teeth Trauma
Can I just say for being a "MINOR" surgery getting my wisdom teeth out has been the BIGGEST pain in my side! Everything that could possibly go wrong with this procedure minus death of course it has happened to your's truly. It all started Saturday night at work when I felt so sick to my stomach I almost threw up, I was so dizzy I couldn't stand up and my jaw was throbbing and hurting me so bad. I didn't know what it was. I went home took a hot bath, a loratab and went straight to bed thinking It was just cause I had had a very big day. WRONGO! I woke up every 2 hours in pain from my stupid sockets from where my wisdom teeth were. I was up all night and I finally fell asleep just a few hours before church. I woke up, Another loratab later, and I was at church enjoying my a few hours filled with the spirit and no pain. By that afternoon though the pain was so bad loratab wasn't even curing it. I just cried and cried to my mom. Finally I got a perkiset (no i'm not a druggie, it was only thing that worked) and it finally cured it. Its such a strong drug it was like I was a completely different human being. I hated it but I liked not being in pain. My poor family just had to deal with my mean alter ego for a night... SORRY! I figured out at work that night that I had dry socket. Nothing else made any sense. That and every one who has gotten their wisdom teeth pulled in my family had it, and I looked up the symptoms and I had everyone. I was glad to figure it out. Monday morning I called the dentist because my oral surgeon is in Hawaii for a business conference! Anyways they got me in. Life couldn't have gotten any better afterwards. My mouth no longer hurt... By this time a whole week has gone by since I got them out. I'm exhausted I've worked 2 night audits already and had one more to go. Well during my 3rd night audit I realized my upper one was sore and I won't go into graphic detail cause it was nasty, but putting it lightly I had fluid coming from it. NOT NORMAL! So I went into the dentist again the next day. I now had 2 dry sockets! One on bottom, one on top both on my left side. Dr. Denos said I was the 3rd person he'd seen in 18 years with it on top. Something very rare. By this time life is FANTASTIC! I feel great I don't hurt anymore. I keep thinking to myself! YES A FULL NIGHTS REST! I can actually sleep and get rid of the nasty blackish purple circles under my eyes (the worst I'd ever seen on myself) So that night I go to flush out the wound on my top, and come to find that there is some kind of hole leading into my sinus cavity! Which finally made sense why my left side was all congested! I had infected fluid in it! I cleaned out the infection which was no fun cause it was coming out of my nose and throat! I won't go into detail cause it was vile. So I felt better went to bed and stayed up all night cause the pain was back full throttle. I had cleared the packing that Dr. denos had done earlier that day while cleaning out my sinus. I went to the doctor again, and he confirmed the hole and said that I had to go back to my surgeon to get it closed up. My surgeon won't be back till next week! I called my surgeon's office they got me a prescription for the infection and it has helped 100% I now just have to wait till Monday to actually see the doctor. So pretty much anything that could go wrong with this procedure it has happened to me out of the mouth of Dr. Denos. All this would be fine if my oral surgeon hadn't have told me I was healing perfectly fine without any complications, and if I wasn't getting married in 2 weeks! By the time I get married from January 5th I will have been to the doctor 9 TIMES! Thats ridiculous! I don't mean to complain, but I kinda do. Its just annoying having this all happen during crunch time. I can't be sick anymore! its been 2 weeks almost! I guess this is why they say patience is a virtue?

Holy cow! I'll never complain about my wisdom teeth experience ever again! I can't even imagine. That whole sinus thing is revolting! I hope you feel better. You at least don't have chipmunk cheeks anymore, right? That'd be bad on your wedding! Good luck with it all.
Maggs I am so sorry that you had to experience this, especially during the final few weeks before the big day. I totally know how you feel. There is nothing in the world worse than dry socket. It literaly sucks.Get better and I will see you in less than 2 weeks.
