Since it is valentine's day I thought I would grace my blog with my presence and give you guys something new to read. So since it is valentine's day and I don't have a love life here in russia I thought "hey why not post what I LOVE about my LIFE here in Russia." Ten things to be exact... I'll actually be shocked if I can figure out ten things. Lets see how it goes
1:The occasional funny story that I have about drunk people.... They are crazy and they will always make you laugh... when you're sad and lonely in russia find a drunk man!
2: The Yogurt.... Yes it is true the russian yogurt is the only thing that can actually make me think about staying here for the rest of my life. Its delicious and will be deeply missed when I return home.
3: The fact that I can say what ever the heck I want where ever I want because honestly no one can understand me. Its a beautiful thing... Not many russians know english, and the ones who do normally make themselves apparent by trying to say things like "WHATS THE MATTER WITH YOU?" when really they mean "Whats wrong? Can I help you with your language barrier problem?" But obviously since they can't get the first sentence right they aren't going to fix my to fix my language barrier problem.Though it would be funny to see them try. ( Yes I am refering to a story that has happened here)
4:My Russian family.... We make fun of each others accents.... Its funny and makes me feel right at home. Plus they are amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better family to live with here.
5: Walking everywhere... I know you think that I would go home and be grateful for cars.... yes I will be, but with cars also comes watching what I eat. Here I eat whatever I want cause most the time its soup and then whatever I buy at paterson's that is....... junk food of course. With walking I don't have to worry about what I eat... I walk everywhere, I haven't been in a car since January 16.
6: Paterson's..... Its an amazing store, and its very close. Plus who wouldn't miss the mean cashier girls who get a flustered look on the face when they realize we're american and don't speak russian. Its funny to watch.
7: The random hours of sun. Yes its true I've never been more grateful for the sun here. Cause its always cloudy....and I love cloudy, but those times when the sun peaks through like its doing as I type this blog it brightens up my day, and makes me happy to know the ice is melting!
8: Timah my cat..... I honestly do love this cat, and won't miss him when I go home... why you make ask? He likes to attack you at random times when you are least expecting it. Thus I have random scratches on my toes, fingers, ankles, and such. oh I love my little white devil.
9: The nice russian people that come talk to us americans on the street when they here us speaking "ongleeski." They freak out and speak tons of russian to us and want to know where we're from, or what we're eating, or my favorite "whats the matter with you" hahaha it gives me hope that there just might be nice russians on the streets.
10: Of course my fellow teachers and Students. They make my day, and make me laugh really hard. Yes they make me happy and bring joy into my russian life. Plus without them You might be bugged when I come home without any cool stories or blogs posted. So Yes I love my friends and students.

Happy Valentine's Day!!
We miss our Maggie. Stay warm and we will see you in the Summer. :)
Happy Valentine's Day!!! We love you and miss you -- hope you are having a good time. Love you-- Rachel
Okay, Maggs - you now have a quote that will follow you the rest of your life:
"When you're sad and lonely in Russia, find a drunk man!"
That made me laugh, but only because you are such a good girl, and that quote sounds pretty funny coming from you, even though I know you meant it in the best of ways. :) Love to you from Oregon!
Courtney
